About Ashgabat Agreement :
- Ashgabat Agreement will strengthen the trade between India
and Eurasian regions.
- Its founding members are Oman, Iran, Turkmenistan and
Uzbekistan.
- The decision of Ashgabat agreement is a big step towards Indian
capability to utilize its existing transport and corridor to make trade and commercial
interaction easier with Eurasian regions. This would synchronize India’s
efforts to implement the International North South Transport Corridor for
enhance its connectivity.
- Turkmenistan is the Depository state of India. India would
become member of Ashgabat Agreement after getting approval of founding members
